La
Sagra is the Italian word for a festival, a feast, or a fair. It
gives its name to the celebrations for the harvest.
In Italy there are Sagras for the Saints, Sagras for grapes and
the wine that they will produce, for fruit, vegetables, pastas and
for the many regional dishes.
As you go through the calendar, you can find a Sagra for every
weekend of the year in Italy. They take place in the town squares
where food and wine is offered; there are stands selling food and
crafts, and there is always music and dancing.
La Sagra, my company, enjoys celebrating these Sagras and takes
the opportunity to learn recipes from the different regions, and
the history behind these events.
Taking inspiration from the beauty of Italy, great food and striking
sunsets, La Sagra offers a range of exquisite dessert chocolates,
SQUISITEZZA, along with stories of inspiration
and tales of Sagras, and colourful greetings cards to send healing
and friendship into a world that has become too busy to enjoy its
beauty.
